My London Fashion Week Day 2 Look VIA nicelyturnedout.com

I hardly took any fotos of myself during fashion week. It was always the case of one missing person from the fotos which no surprisingly happens to be the man behind the lens. Lucky for me there were loads of other streetstyle bloggers who took photo's of me and nicelyturnedout.com tweeted this at me so there was no stress of wading through loads of images and spending hours on google searching for my LFW look.  Outfit breakdown after the jump.

A Kind of Guise Duffle Bag

I'm not so sure what the right spelling for Duffle is... maybe Duffel? but anyways i guess one's the English spelling and the other the American aberration. Back to the product in focus, AKOG ( A kind of guise) duffel bag evokes all these tribal elements and  is reminiscent of handmade bags at the arts and craft center in Accra, Ghana which is one of my favorite places on earth.  This looks like a worthy investment for your summer wardrobe, not sure about functionality but it ticks all the right aesthetics boxes for me. 

Shiriting: Japanese Prints from Ben Sherman

Tropical prints are big in the game this season and Ben Sherman don't disappoint with this beautiful japanese inspired bird print button down. Although my incessant spending has been curbed nicely thanks to the reality of a depleted bank account, i still yearn for this shirt. But well if we all got what we yearned for, then i'd have my own island and probably another house on Lake Como.

London Fashion Week AW12:Nasir Mazhar Exhibition

 

Nasir Mazhar has stayed delivering season after season quirky headgear in his now signature silhouettes. He also makes some of the coolest bags that are laden with hipster street cool vibes.  The designer who refers to himself as a hatter rather than a milliner has managed to carve out his hybrids of baseball and golf hats and reworks them with different colors and fabrics from season to season. Final Dose of Streetstyle from Menswear Day at London Fashion Week AW12

I ain't no Tommy Ton but i also got an eye which is personal to me. Just like the saying 'beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder' spotting out stylish individuals in a sea of people trying to hard to be stylish  is not the easiest job. My new Fujifilm X10 compact camera gave me all the confidence i needed and the ease of wading through and shooting people unnoticed. More images after the jump.

On The Radar: Kit Neale A/W12 Collection

I only found out about Kit Neale this year and he's already one of my fav menswear designers, the world over. He marries inherently feminine prints/fabrics with a masculine sporty feel. It's like the best of both worlds. He's been able to apply a certain kind of masculinity to the butterfly print and he stole my heart with the bug print. Out of all the menswear designers who showed at the just concluded London Fashion Week, his aesthetic depicts my personal style the best. A label after my heart.

Topman Supports Fairtrade Forthnight

 The Fairtrade Foundation is the independent non-profit organisation that licenses use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on products in the UK in accordance with internationally agreed Fairtrade standards.  The Foundation was established in 1992 by CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam, Traidcraft, the World Development Movement, and the National Federation of Women’s Institutes.  These tees and tanks are now available instore at Topman.

Igor Stepanov: Frank Talk

18 year old model Igor Stepanov is amongst the fast rising group of male models in the UK. His numerous magazine editorials and runway shows has seen him work with some of the best stylists and photographers in the world. The world of modeling sometimes can be overwhelming for young models with all the travel and partying, so Men's FSA caught up with the London town boy and had a frank talk with him.

British menswear designers are currently giving me an overdose of oxygen and i would not be exaggerating if i said that the menswear day at the just concluded London fashion week AW12 was the happiest day of my life.. well may be there's a bit of exaggeration there as loads of m favorite designers put up an incredible show. Christopher Shannon returned with his signature sporty vibe this time having a more tailored cut. I like the photo print effect and the laser cut joggers which by the way would def be in my wardrobe come fall, leather raglan sleeve, and bright masculine baroque prints. I use the word Masculine here...not trying to sound gender specific but we all know most baroque prints are inherently feminine and it could be argued that baroque prints are the exclusive provenance of the women folk..until now.
