Since Amazon’s entry into the mono-brand
e-tailing business with years ago, it’s collaborated with the likes of DerekLam, Meadham Kirchhoff and now British brand Osman on a line consisting of men’s
and women’s pieces. British trained designer Osman Yousefzada’s
capsule collection for Amazon sees him delve into menswear design for the first
time with 2 unisex pieces; a tux jacket and Christmas jumper.
The Christmas jumper comes in a slouchy
oversized fit – a tad too wide at the neck – in an interesting multi-coloured
jacquard knit. The tuxedo jacket comes in a boxy fit with grosgrain detailing.
All of this is expected to push Amazon’s
fashion business further and albeit as successful as its music or books business.
This year alone has seen the e-tail giant add more than 100 brands to its
fashion store. Critics have argued that Amazon is not as specialized in fashion
business compared to other fashion etailers like Mr Porter & Oki-ni but
only time would tell how much success it would enjoy with fashion.
